Four Key Stages
The National Curriculum in England is structured into four Key Stages.
Key Stage 1 covers years 1 and 2 of primary school
Key Stage 2 covers years 3-6.
Key Stages 3 and 4 are for secondary school students.
The National Curriculum provides guidance on which subjects should be taught, the knowledge, skills and understanding a child should achieve in each subject, targets, and how information on each child’s progress should be passed on to the parent
